Hall effect sensors with differential toe brakes

Sensor type and resolution stated by Thrustmaster.

What changes on short final

Pendular means the pedals hang and swing on an arc instead of sliding on rails like the TFRP. Add an all-metal structure and you have the whole personality of this set.

The sensors are the other half. Thrustmaster puts 16-bit Hall sensors on the rudder and on both differential brakes, not just on the main axis. Small, steady rudder inputs in a gusty crosswind, measured braking on the rollout without locking a wheel: that's what you're paying for.

Desk or home cockpit?

Either, as long as the floor is ready for 7 kg of metal. The pedal angle adjusts to five positions between 35° and 75°, so you can match it to an office chair today and a reclined cockpit seat later. Spring positions set the resistance.

Two things are missing from the spec sheet: the pedal travel and a US warranty figure. And it's PC only, with no route to Xbox or PlayStation.

Great if you…

  • are building a home cockpit on PC and want pedals you won't replace
  • want 16-bit Hall sensors on the brakes as well as the rudder
  • fly helicopters or liners and care about fine, steady yaw

Skip it if…

  • you fly on Xbox or PlayStation: PC only
  • the budget is the limit. The TFRP cost $470 less, toe brakes included.
  • a printed warranty matters: Honeycomb states two years for the Charlie, Thrustmaster gives no US figure

Better fit elsewhere?

The Honeycomb Charlie Rudder Pedals are the real alternative: Hall sensors on a belt transmission, toe brakes, 7.3 kg, PC, Mac and Xbox, for $250 less. They also rank above the TPR in our pedal data.

If pedals are part of a bigger build, see the best flight sim cockpits for frames with a rudder mount, and compare all five sets in the best flight sim rudder pedals.

The verdict

The TPR is the specialist's choice: pendular, all metal, 16-bit Hall on every axis. At $599.99 (checked October 29, 2026), it only makes sense on PC, in a setup that's already serious.

If that's you, it's the set you buy once. Check today's price.
