How we build the ranking

Each product gets a score out of 10, calculated within its category (VR headsets) from the manufacturer specs and the US price checked on October 29, 2026. Products are then ranked by descending score; on a tie, the cheaper one comes first.

We do not run hands-on tests. An affiliate link never affects a score or a rank.

  • Flight sticks and HOTAS: sensor, resolution, axes, buttons, twist rudder or throttle levers, modular design, platforms, warranty and price.
  • Yokes: rotation, pitch travel, axes, buttons, included levers, sensor, weight, platforms, warranty and price.
  • Rudder pedals: sensor, resolution, pedal travel, toe brakes, axes, weight, platforms, warranty and price.
  • Throttle quadrants: levers, detents, buttons, axes, sensor, modular design, platforms, warranty and price.
  • Cockpits: maximum load, supported controls, seat, weight, modular design, warranty and price.
  • VR headsets: clarity (PPD or resolution), field of view, display, refresh rate, PC connection, tracking, eye tracking, weight and price.
  • Missing criteria are removed and weights renormalized; no score without a price or with fewer than three known technical criteria.
