The HOTAS with a screen. The VelocityOne Flightdeck lists 15 axes and 139 programmable functions, up to 39 of them on its Flight Touch Display, for $429.99 on PC. It's for the pilot whose cockpit has more switches than his keyboard has keys, and who doesn't mind a long evening of bindings.

What changes in the cockpit

The split throttle is the headline for twin and airliner flying: two levers that lock together when you fly a single, and detents you set on the touch display instead of having them cut into the metal. An idle stop and a climb gate for tonight's liner, nothing at all for tomorrow's glider: that's the idea.

Turtle Beach states Hall effect sensors on all main stick and throttle movement controls. That's a wider claim than many sets make: Logitech, for example, states Hall for the X56's pitch and roll only.

Desk or home cockpit?

Two USB devices, 2.97 kg between them on the spec sheet, built for the desk. It's Windows 10/11 only: despite Turtle Beach's Xbox gear elsewhere, this one lists no console.

Turtle Beach doesn't state a twist axis for rudder, so plan for pedals. The house match is the VelocityOne Rudder at $319.99, with Hall sensors and differential toe brakes, connected straight to the PC.

Great if you…

  • fly twins or airliners on PC and want detents you can change per aircraft
  • run out of buttons on every set you've owned
  • like the idea of a touch screen on the throttle for the functions you rarely use

Skip it if…

  • you fly on Xbox: look at the T.Flight Hotas One or the VelocityOne Flight yoke instead
  • you want a gate you can feel in the metal rather than one set in software
  • warranty length matters: Turtle Beach states one year, Logitech two on the X56

Better fit elsewhere?

Our number one HOTAS, the Logitech X56 H.O.T.A.S., costs $180 less: 13 axes, two throttles that lock together and thumb sticks on both hands, without the screen. For many pilots that's the smarter money.

Coming from a console set? The Flightdeck vs T.Flight Hotas One head-to-head shows what $330 more gets you. The whole field is ranked in the best HOTAS.

The verdict

The Flightdeck is the most programmable HOTAS on our list: 139 functions, 15 axes, Hall sensors on the main controls and detents you define, $429.99 on October 29, 2026.

If bindings are your bottleneck, it's worth the premium. If they aren't, the X56 does the flying for less. Check today's price.
