What changes on the flight deck

Airbus flies with a sidestick, and practicing on one builds the right habits: small wrist inputs instead of arm movements, and a hand that sits off to the side rather than in front of you. The twist axis turns ±20° and handles rudder until you own pedals.

WINCTRL uses non-contact magnetic sensors on X and Y; the long-travel throttle slider in the base is a potentiometer, per the spec sheet. Add 14 buttons, a hidden 5-way switch and a vibration motor driven by flight data, tuned in SimAppPro.

Desk, left or right hand?

Pick the hand before you order. The captain flies with the left hand on the real airplane, the first officer with the right; the version we list is the left-hand one, and the right-hand one is the same price. WINCTRL doesn't publish the product weight.

The base slider is a starter throttle, and WINCTRL lists no detents on it. For real detents, WINCTRL's URSA MINOR 32 Throttle adds IDLE, CL, FLX/MCT and TO/GA gates and engine master switches for $145.10.

Great if you…

  • fly Airbus on PC and want the cheapest sidestick in our data
  • want a stick and a basic throttle in one unit to start with
  • like a little vibration in the hand from the sim

Skip it if…

  • you fly Boeings, GA or fighters: a center stick like the T.16000M FCS fits better
  • you want detents and a reverser today: that's a quadrant's job
  • warranty length matters: WINCTRL states one year
